Analysis

Questions about flying that can be settled by counting flights rather than by opinion. Each piece is computed from the record when you load it, so the numbers in it are the numbers on the rest of the site — March 2025 – August 2026.

Why these and not others

A piece only appears here if the data can settle it. That rules out most of what a travel site publishes — the best seat, the cheapest month to book, whether an airline's service has slipped — because none of those are in a punctuality file, and writing them anyway would mean guessing in a confident voice.

It also means the conclusions are not decided in advance. Whether return flights really do run later than outbound ones is a question the query answers, and the piece reports whichever way it comes out — including, where that happens, that the effect is too small to act on.
